Before I express my view on this issue, Let me clarify to all of you who are reading this - I am not a Hindu Fanatic. But I am being driven to question the Hindu tolerance??? I have close friends across all religions. I have always been proud, and have boasted myself for being SECULAR, despite being a Hindu by birth, I was comfortable attending primary school in a Muslim Institution and high school in a Christian Institution. I use to celebrate both Ramzan and Christmas with my friends with equal vigor as that of Deepvali.
Will Karunanidhi Dare to Change the Christian or Muslim Calendar ? Are Hindu's being targetted for petty political interests of these divisive politicians? I am worried because these actions are unwarranted and is going to hinder the development of an inclusive society.

It is a dangerous trend that needs to nipped in the bud. Majority community feels corned across India.
1. Bangladeshis migrating in hordes across NE India and Bengal. This is resulting in Hindus being chased out of their villages. There is lot of violence that is not reported in the mainstream Secular media.
2. From domestic policy to foreign policy minority appeasement is used as an instrument. This is extremely deplorable. Malaysian Hindus problem was termed as an internal problem of Malaysia but Danish ambassodor was summoned an cautioned for Danish cartoons. This is extremely sickening act by UPA.
3. Governments involvement in controlling Hindu religious affairs from Temples to calendars is extremely distressing. This is nothing but oppression and violation of fundamental right to follow ones religion. The same is not true with respect to other religions in India. Muslims and Christians control their institutions and Muslims have their own Personal Law Board to manage their own civil law. Yes in India Hindus have different law from Muslims.
4. Government's dole out to minorities is again an act of vote-bank politics but it is definitely going to cause fissures in the society. Haj pilgrimage subsidy and Jerusalem subsidy for Christians is a very disturbing arrangment.
I think Secularism in India needs to be reassesed.
